Fundraising for Firefly and Macmillan

I took a little time out from Wild Orange duties to plan a fundraising charity event. The culmination of several months planning, preparation and gathering of raffle prizes for two great charities, Firefly and Macmillan was rewarded with a fantastic event yesterday. We raised over £1.4 thousand pounds -brilliant, generous people of Doncaster.

Chewy, the director of Firefly also attended and ran an auction to raise additional funds along with Paul Taylor or “Chunky “ as he will now be referred too!

I must thank my husband Martin, son Mark, son in law Charles and my mum in law ,June for their additional help on the day, as well as their continued support in whatever it is I get up too!

A big thanks to my son’s sister in law Lesley, who planned and arranged the holistic therapy element, providing an a-z of help for people living with cancer and some great recipes with help from brother in law ,Jason for the wonderful soup and mini pizzas. To Louise who provided hand massages and thanks to a lovely friend, Natalie Sloan for her epic vegan bake off -amazing carrot cake :)

To Julie Buckley of Cask Corner , to all her wonderful staff and the Budo Big Band- a brilliant swing band for providing the venue and the entertainment.

Finally, but not least to some of the local businesses who have donated raffle prizes, Sainsbury,s in the Frenchgate centre, Morrisons in Balby, Asda at the Dome, M&S at Wheatley Hall road, The Crab and Moo, Thornhurst Manor, Victoria’s of Doncaster, Judy Grindle, Julie Taylor, of Taylor's fascinator's , Madame Dotty, DL from the deaf school slimming world. To all my friends and family who have also donated prizes, baked and cooked food, bought raffle tickets or attended on the day -without you, we wouldn’t have had an event -so thank you!

Right back to Wild Orange duties 😊
