Stressed-part two

Right , here are a few more things we stress over .

The Past

Yep, you don’t have to worry about the past because you can’t change it. That’s a tough one, isn’t it? You wouldn’t think so, but so many people will churn the past over and over, thinking about what they should have done. You can’t change the past! It’s so obvious and so hard for people to learn. So move on and be happier.

The Future

Now, I bet you are more open to the idea of letting go of the past than the future. You can change the future, after all, so you should worry about it, right?

Wrong! You should plan for it but after that, you can’t magically make your plans come true or control what other people do. So make plans, learn, have dreams, and work toward an even better future, but don’t lay in bed at time worrying about it. That robs you of your present.

 Dying

Whoa, now we’re really getting into a serous territory. Some people really stress about dying… But it’s another thing you can’t control. And stressing over when/how you’ll die, robs you of your life.

 Failure

I’d like to end on a high note, and while “failure” doesn’t sound upbeat, it’s very freeing when you can stop stressing over failing. Guess what? You’re going to fail in life. It’s not that big of a deal. Ask rich and famous people how many times they’ve failed, and they’ll tell you that they lost count.

Imagine if the star centre forward in a football team worried about missing the shot, so they don’t take it. Fail can also mean  “ the first attempt at learning” or second, or third. You get the picture. You can’t be so afraid of failure that you don’t try.

If you can learn to let go of the things that are out of your control, you will feel more at peace and, ironically, more in control.

If you can change something, do it. If you can’t change something, don’t stress about it!
