How to Live Longer and Healthier
In life, especially a happy one, we’re always looking for more. When we find our purpose, our soulmate, reasons to live for, we want to extend our time on Earth for as long as we can. Am I right?
We want to be as youthful, as full of energy as we were back in our prime. We want to be fitter, we want to age gracefully, we want to maintain our good looks and healthy bodies.
It’s normal to want that. But if you want it, you have got to work for it. Your genes can only determine so much. It’s your habits that will go a long way.
Follow these habits and feel the difference they make in your life.
No overeating
Food is meant to nourish our bodies. They are for our consumption, so we can function well. Each food has their specific effect on us, and it’s important that we know what those are in order to maximise their potential.
Eating is not a hobby. It’s not something to do when you’re bored or when you’re passing time.
The right amount of food is what we need, nothing more, nothing less.
It’s not a crime to enjoy what you’re eating, but don’t be too liberal with your servings and with the kinds of food you enjoy.
Make friends
Being around good people feels good. The positive vibes that they send out is contagious and you just can’t help but radiate that yourself even long after you’ve been around them..
Making friends with the right kind of people will bring out something in you that makes you more beautiful in every aspect.
Friends also help get those toxic thoughts and feelings out of your system when you feel comfortable enough to rant to them about a bad day or bad experiences.
It’s important to have a solid support system in your life. It helps everything more enjoyable and the bad times more bearable.
Detoxify
With all the chemicals that are being used in food these days, you can’t help but wonder what kind of toxins are in your body.
Luckily, there have also been a growing number of concoctions that help you detoxify by way of juicing and proper diets.
Fruits and vegetables are always good for your body. The different types help in different functions and we need a variety of the good food in order to maintain our bodies well.
Say goodbye to vices
Yep, if you’re serious about living longer, then cut the bad elements in your life starting from those unhealthy vices such as smoking, drinking in excess, staying up late, eating to your heart’s content, etc.
There really isn’t any room for that kind of lifestyle where health is concerned. You need to live deliberately, make the right choices, the ones that are actually good for you, not just what feels good in the short run.
Think long term and what your decisions today will bring you tomorrow.
It’s not a sacrifice if you’re giving up something bad to gain something so much better. It’s just putting value on your life.
That's all for this week. Carole :) x
